These prints by English artist Idris Kahn are made using a really interesting technique. The works are composites made by scanning and digitizing images from other sources such as every painting by Caravaggio or William Turner. The images are combined in layers, then digitally retouched to synch in brightness and variations to form a single composite C-print. The resulting image seems to filter the essential aspects of these masterpieces forming a signature template of their style.
